My first thought when I saw Meryl Streep’s little temper tantrum at the Golden Globes last night? “Did she lose a fight with a chandelier or something?”
Seriously – what in the world is she WEARING?
I have about as much patience for the Golden Globes (or any pretentious Hollywood circle-jerk awards show) as I do for drivers doing 20 mph the fast lane. They’re the biggest waste of time, space, energy, and breath. I refuse to watch them. If something cute and/or funny happens (like Benedict Cumberbatch photobombing somebody), I’ll catch it online the next day. Other than that, I’d rather watch grout drying than watch the Golden Globes.
(Though I did have to laugh at Meryl’s “Disrespect breeds disrespect” line. As if she and all her other progressive elitist colleagues haven’t been disrespecting the rest of the America for the past eight years. No… longer than that. I’ve NEVER heard a friendly word of respect from Hollywood toward middle America. Not toward someone who didn’t “escape” the savage enclaves of Iowa or South Dakota or Missouri and go to LA or New York, at least.)
That being said – Mark Levin had the most BRILLIANT response to Meryl Streep’s diarrhea of the mouth last night. His take on it perfectly encapsulates everything that Hollywood stands for –
Meryl Streep said nothing when Obama’s Justice Department was targeting reporters and intercepting their communications; she said nothing when Obama’s Justice Department was arming Mexican drug lords, resulting in murder; she said nothing when Obama’s IRS was threatening and intimidating private citizens because of their viewpoints; she said nothing when Obama’s NSA was gathering a massive amount of telephonic activity by American citizens; she said nothing when Obama threw Israel over the cliff at the UN; she said nothing when Obama’s policies (or lack thereof) contributed to the growth of ISIS and its genocide, rape, slavery, and torture; etc.Streep is a liberal ass and partisan who should stick to what she knows — memorizing words written by people smarter than her and then repeating them when directed to do so. She’s incapable of basic reasoning and comprehension. She also disrespected her industry and the viewing public by using the Golden Globe Awards’ ceremony to burp up her baloney, as if what she had to say was so urgent and momentous.
As long as the president that’s doing terrible things is a Democrat, Hollywood turns a blind eye and tells everyone what an amazing job said president is doing and that we should be “servants” to the president (oh yeah, THAT wasn’t creepy AT ALL).
For all of Hollywood’s “creativity,” they haven’t had anything new or unique to say since the 1970s. Certainly nothing political. And certainly nothing that would change anyone’s mind that isn’t already drinking the elitist progressive Kool-Aid.
