Attention townspeople: I believe we’ve discovered the slimiest “journalist” in the country. His name’s Kurt Eichenwald. He’s a senior writer at Newsweek, and given his title, you’d expect at least a shred of journalistic integrity from him. Unfortunately, you won’t find it.
Here he is. So smug.
Carlson had Eichenwald on his show Thursday night and asked him about some of his more controversial tweets. It’s mostly run-of-the-mill stuff– calling Trump “stupid” and “lazy” and asking when conservatives are going to stop “hating America.” Yawn.
“That sounds pretty partisan,” Carlson said.
Eichenwald accused Carlson of taking his tweets out of context. Because clearly, there’s a deeper meaning behind phrases like “dumbass Trump supporters.”
From there, Eichenwald begged Carlson to read a full tweet so he could explain himself but proceeded to interrupt him approximately 400 times, therefore making it impossible for Carlson to get a word in. Eichenwald then pulled out a stupid binder with the words “Tucker Carlson’s Falsehoods” and flashed it to the camera. I think that was his way of asserting his position as alpha male. FAIL.
Carlson finally got a word in and read off a tweet, in which Eichenwald alleged that Trump was institutionalized in a mental hospital in 1990. However, he provided no concrete evidence. It’s ironic, because the day before, he tweeted about the laziness of journalists.
Tucker asked him straight up. Was Trump in a mental hospital?
Eichenwald wouldn’t answer. Instead, he decided to tell the most long-winded story in TV history, and when Carlson finally interrupted and asked him to answer the simple question, Eichenwald was all, (I’m paraphrasing), “WOW. Just because you don’t like my answer doesn’t mean you can make stuff up! Let me answer the question! Seriously. I’M DYING TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION!”
Eichenwald was full of lame excuses. He didn’t answer the question, but listen! He didn’t print that accusation in an article, and he didn’t just pull it out of thin air! That would be irresponsible! He heard about it from his cousin’s doctor’s second cousin’s brother-in-law… or something.
My commentary won’t even do the rest of the interview justice. Eichenwald basically spends the entire time accusing Carlson of preventing him from answering a question he OMG REALLY WANTS TO ANSWER, and Carlson’s just sitting there like, OK? ANSWER IT. Eichenwald ends the interview by going off on some weird tangent on the CIA.

As usual, Carlson’s face says it all.
Eichenwald should be captain of the dodgeball team. Seriously.
