Liberals are constantly passing out memberships to their victim club. But when it comes to victims of actual crime (take Kate Steinle, for instance), they remain silent. Sorry! They only deal with “crimes” that can advance their ideological agenda. Crimes like “misgendering.” Which is equivalent to violence, by the way. At least, according to actor/reality TV star Laverne Cox.
During an event Friday afternoon at the University of Maryland, Cox told a group of attendees that “misgendering” a trans person is actually an act of violence. So when I refer to “Caitlyn” Jenner as a “he”– even though he is a biological male and the FATHER of children– that is violent and probably makes him (oops! There I go again) feel unsafe. I kid you not.
“I have come to realize that calling a transgender woman or man, misgendering a transgendered person, is an act of violence,” Cox said.
He (OK– I wasn’t even misgendering on purpose that time) even said that misgendering makes him fear for his life.
“So often when I experience these moments on the street, I would immediately feel unsafe as if my life was in danger,” Cox said. “And all of these anti-trans bills that are being quote ‘all over the country’ are basically misgendering trans people and they are acts of violence.”
Is he referring to North Carolina’s bathroom law? I have a feeling he is. So basically, asking someone who is a biological male to use the men’s restroom is equivalent to violence. It’s “an act of violence” now. For real.
We have people who actually believe this crap. How long until progressives try to pass some form of legislation that criminalizes misgendering? Oh wait. NYC is way ahead of us.
In the latest, astonishing act of draconian political correctness, the NYC Commission on Human Rights have updated a law on “Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Expression” to threaten staggering financial penalties against property owners who “misgender” employees or tenants.
Incidents that are deemed “wilful and malicious” will see property owners face up to $250,000 in fines, while standard violations of the law will result in a $125,000 fine. For small business owners, these sums are crippling.
Isn’t that neat? Gosh, progressivism is so fun!
