I feel dumber for having watched this video.
So, the White House teamed up with CollegeHumor (because OF COURSE they did) to produce this video using that crappy “1 in 5 women will be raped” statistic and saying “What if we changed it to 1 in 5 bears will attack you in your home? Would you do anything about it then?” It’s just as stupid and brain-dead as it sounds. Watch (because I can’t be the only person who must suffer through this bullcrap) –
For a website that’s called “College Humor,” they really aren’t that funny. And I would be willing to forgive that, if they actually used sound data for this project. But in reality, sexual assault is happening probably about as much as actual bears are attacking and killing people. So… maybe there’s a method to this (just a very dumb one).
(Oh – by the way. The comments for the video were disabled on YouTube. I was TOTALLY going to call them out of their fake statistics, but they can’t handle hearing a dissenting voice.)
Here’s a ridiculous question that I’m going to ask anyway – Can anyone around here do basic math? Let’s look at the 1-in-5 rape claim. If it was indeed true that one out of every five women on college campuses will be sexually assaulted – that’s a LOT of women. That rate makes the ISIS slave trade look like a day at Disneyland. Men wouldn’t have time for anything else – they’d have to be out raping twenty women before lunchtime in order to get their feminist-decreed quota in!
This statistic has been thoroughly debunked over and over and over again – and they STILL insist on using it! The only reason I can see for doing that is to continually create a climate of division between men and women. Women have to see men as this dangerous enemy and men have to always be apologizing for things that the vast majority of them would never, ever, ever do. And man-hating feminists continue to be content and happy (well, as much happiness as these hateful harpies could ever achieve) in their constant demonization of men. They even have to go so far as to actively frame innocent men for sexual assault, which further divides us along gender lines. And, apparently, it’s working.
Thank goodness for people like Dr. Christina Hoff Sommers and her Factual Feminist video series. Daisy posted this video some time ago, but seeing as I (and you, Dear Readers) had to suffer through that stupid bear thing, I think a palate cleanser is in order –
I’ll stick with Dr. Sommers and her well-reasoned assessment of these craptastic “research” studies, thank you.
